Italian Heritage Project: Guelph
The Italian Heritage project collects and preserves the narratives and artifacts of Italian immigrants to Canada, and the Guelph-Wellington area specifically.
Giving Birth: Italian-Canadian Migration and Motherhood
This project showcases six Italian immigrant women’s personal narratives that explore how they remember immigration, especially as they entered motherhood without the network of support upon which they relied back in Italy.
Waterloo Oral Histories
Italian Language and Italian Studies students at Saint Jerome’s College on the University of Waterloo campus researched the heart of the Italian community in Southwestern Ontario and beyond, uncovering immigration experiences through oral history interviews.

Italian Canadians as Enemy Aliens: Memories of World War II
June 10, 1940, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini declared that Italy had joined the war on the side of Germany. Within minutes of this announcement, the Canadian government gave the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) orders to arrest Italian Canadians considered to be a security risk.
